Chapli Kebab

A traditional Peshawari-style kabab made with seasoned minced meat, tomatoes, and crushed spices for a rich, juicy, and bold flavor. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Method

  1. Combine the minced beef with onion, tomato, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, coriander, crushed coriander seeds, cumin seeds, chilli flakes, black pepper, gram flour, egg, and salt.

  2. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  3. Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes.

  4. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into flat round patties.

  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

  6. Shallow fry the kababs until crisp and golden on both sides.

  7. Drain excess oil on kitchen paper.

  8. Garnish with onion rings, coriander, and lemon wedges.

  9. Serve hot with naan and mint chutney.

Chef Tips

  • Finely chopped tomatoes add moisture and authentic Chapli Kabab flavor.
  • Avoid flipping the kababs too often to prevent them from breaking.
